iOS 6 oddness and Lotus Traveler - The saga continues

If you have been following my story on the blog, you know that I tripped across an issue with iOS 6 after upgrading last week.  To review, here's a quick video I posted on what I was experiencing:

So after seeing the behavior on devices connected to either a server running Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.3.2 Build 201202250956 or Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.3.100 Upgrade Pack 1 Build 201209141855, (which is 8.5.3 UP1 IF1),  I opened a PMR with IBM support.  After checking the PMR status online Friday, I saw that an APAR (bug report) had been created regarding the issue.  Checking the status of the PMR this morning, I saw that there was an update.  According to the IBM team, they are seeing the following:
It appears iOS6 is expecting the user to provision their account with the internet form of the user  name (firstname.lastname@domain.com) and not the Domino name (Firstname Lastname).
Their advice was to remove the Traveler profile from the iOS device and reinstall, but on reinstall, log into the Traveler server with the internet email address as the username and not the Domino user name. Upon trying that and re-testing creating a meeting invite, it worked!  The meeting invite color remained what it should and not switching to grey with the dashed lines!  So if you're seeing this in your environment, give it a shot!  I'm holding out hope for a patch of course.  I really don't feel like telling a lot of folks that they have to remove and reinstall the profiles.  I mean, who wants to talk to users anyway? ;-)

More updates as I get 'em.

Interesting. I had an issue previously where corporate lookups would only work if you created the profile using email address. It was way before 8.5.3 though.

Andy, that explains why it wasn't an issue for me. Our users use their email address as a log in, we've never used the Notes name. At least you got it figured out.

And that is why I couldn't duplicate the issue either; we've always used the user's internet address for Traveler.

Anyone know when IBM is planning to release the next FP for Traveler, we're still at 8.5.3.2 and are looking to upgrade and the upgrade path with all the IF installs is like trying to decipher hieroglyphics, would be nice to wrap everything neatly up into one install.

Thanks, I think I had the same issue. Repeating meeting that I had created was showing up as a grey box with a white dashed border. As it was my meeting, I couldn't accept it so it stayed grey. Deleting the profile created with "short name" and reinstalling profile with "internet address" fixes the issue.

Interesting. I didn't even know we could use the Notes name with Traveler setup. Just automatically used the Internet address, as with BES.

Thanks for updating this Andy - been a big help to two of my customers. Appreciate it.

Thank you! We had been configuring Traveler using Domino names. I've just updated all our user facing and Known Error documentation to use e-mail address which appears to eliminate the issue.
