SUSetRunAsWizard.exe

Before running out the door to Vegas for the week, I took a couple of minutes tonight to check out the one feature of Notes/Domino 7.0.2 that I have been waiting on since January. The SUSetRunAsWizard.exe utility. Be default, it's installed to the program directory of your Lotus Notes client. I had it build a quick package, and it seemed to fall together rather easily. To use the application, I would suggest creating a silent install, and then package that with the SUSetRunAsWizard utility. I plan on testing this extensively when I get back next week, (I'll post a big "how-to" about it), but from what it appears, this is going to be a FANTASTIC utility to take back ownership of rolling out your Lotus applications using Smart Upgrade on locked down desktops. I've had to rely upon the workstation group to let me know where the status is on rollouts in the past with SMS. Hopefully, that will become a thing of the past.
Off to Vegas, baby! Now if I can only remember where I put my tux....

I'm interested to know if this client 7.0.2 is already available for download? Based on your experience, does it work as intended? Coz in my environment, all the users (except admin users) have no rights to install programs. Also, by default the WINDOWS INSTALLER service is not started. Can using this RunAs start services as well?

Yes, both the client and server are available for download off of the Passport Advantage site. From what I understand with the wizard, it will run the setup and all things attached to the setup as the local administrator account you run it as. I just need to test that myself. Stay tuned...results are coming!
