Lotusphere2006 - Final Thoughts

Well, I'm back in Ohio safe and sound. The flight home was uneventful, which is always a good thing. My aching leg muscles are my constant reminder of the excitement of the last week. My aching knee is a constant reminder that I need to loose weight and exercise more.
After having time to sit back, reflect and read others thoughts on the past week, only a couple of thoughts really stick out in my mind about Lotusphere.
1. Commitment - Lotus and IBM are committed to Lotus Notes and Domino! The future looks bright for Lotus, and we are all looking forward to it!
2. Excitement - The excitement can be felt not only in the customers that attended Lotusphere, but also in the IBM/Lotus employees there. Any time I went into a lab to speak without someone on an issue, they all seemed upbeat and excited. I can't say that I noticed that in the past couple of years. They all seemed like they had a fire inside that was contagious to pick up on.
3. Community - Lotus/IBM has really attached itself to the blogging community. They are listening to what we have to say. It was obvious by the use of blog entries used in the closing session. They know that we are the ones that use the product and we are the ones that have to sell the product internally.

So go forth and spread the good word! Tell those at your office that may laugh or give that "MS is better" look the truth. Start implementing the new technologies, at least in a test environment, and they will see the value. It's up to us gang. The gloves are off, let's start swinging!

AMEN Brother. It's a full 15 rounds. Bring on the 'Ali shuffle' and let's take it to those MS biggots.

It's up to us. We are the ones that can shape the future of how Domino is portrayed our environments. Thanks for the comment.
