Lotus Notes Silent Install

Okay, so I have been fighting with trying to figure out how to properly do a silent install of the Notes client to upgrade all of my R5 people. Got a quick and dirty one done in the past, and it worked. But, that was mainly for fresh installs. I found that the IS staff was okay with the fact of disabling the Sametime setup at the end of it, and continuing on. Well, I needed to tweak the process a little more. For it to work with the general population, I had to make it so the Sametime setup didn't pop up at the end. So after much searching, I came across this website.
This was the missing link to getting the IM_NO_SETUP=1 to actually work. Thanks, Phigment! You rock!
Okay, so all happy, I created a new transform file using the Installshield tuner, and went to someone to test the install. As expected, the Sametime setup window did not appear. WooHoo! BUT, when the client finally started up, their good old R4/R5 Workspace had disappeared. No worries, set it back for them, but thought that was kind of weird. So, I tested it again on someone different. Same thing. Great, fixed one thing, and broke another. That's when I put in a call to Lotus.
The good folks at Lotus hooked me up with this technote. After following the steps, and created another transform, it was off to test on another person. It worked! Upgraded the Notes client to 6.5.3, and everything is running smoothly. I love it when a plan comes together.
