This weekend was a very special one. Last night, we celebrated 50 years of my Mom and Dad being together. Seems like in this world anymore, folks are lucky to make it to 10 years. After 50 years, and 5 kids, they are still going strong. It was a total surprise to them as well. They had no idea that me and the kids were coming up. My brother who lives in NYC also was able to fly in for the party. The plan was to have a surprise party for them in the basement of the church were we all grew up in. They went to 4 o'clock Mass with the rest of the family, we showed up about 5 minutes after 4, and greeted everyone that came in. After Mass was over, my cousin, Michael, met them at the top of the stairs with his bagpipes, and guided them downstairs to the party. I have never in my life seen my folks that floored about something. They loved it. And they are worth it. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad. You gave us so much over the years.
