Tech for cheap: Saving money on a new iPad

I knew it wasn't going to take long. Back when the new iPad first was released, I knew Denise was going to want one. So once again back to the old saving pennies we went and this past week we were able to order her very own iPad. But because my wife is so incredibly awesome, I didn't have to shell out full price for the iPad.
If you don't already know about it, Apple has a really good program on their website but you just have to know where to look for it. Apple sells refurbished iPads. Meaning iPads that were originally sold as new that were returned to the manufacturer because of either a problem or some other reason are totally rebuilt, reset and reimaged are put back for sale much cheaper than a brand new device. And after playing with the device all afternoon, I am extremely impressed with the savings. We ordered her a an iPad 2 32 GB device and as far as I can tell I see no difference from a brand-new device. The only noticeable difference is the packaging of the box.

Normally when you buy a new iPad it has a fancy picture on the cover but as you can see in the picture above, it just says iPad and at the bottom it says Apple certified refurbished. Inside the box everything is included; the iPad, the cables, anything you'd normally find when you buy a new iPad. Even the cool stickers! The only thing missing that I could see was the earbuds, but I'm not sure if those even came with my iPad.

The part that really sold me was the fact that Apple stands behind these refurbished devices with a full year warranty. No different than you would find buying a new device!
So how can you find one of these money saving devices yourself? Easy!
Open the favorite browser of your choice and go to this link http://store.apple.com/us/browse/home/specialdeals
There you can find great deals on not only the iPad, but all of Apple's toys. I love saving money. And if I can make my wife happy at the same time, then it's been a good day!
