WTFrak, IBM?

Ok.  I don't normally write conspiracy posts.  I really do try to stay away from them.  But when I read today that Mary Beth Raven was leaving IBM, I got to wondering. What is going on there?  A social company letting one of their most social people go?
They have met her, right?  She brings the noise AND the funk to conferences.
But, what is going on there?
There has been a wave of exits, mainly European based, over the past couple months.  But someone as widely known and respected among most anyone in the community says that their taking off is cause for concern in my opinion.  And this is my blog, so I'm allowed to voice my opinion.  I know no one from IBM is going to answer this.  And that's not the purpose of the post.  Just thinking out-loud.
Social people leaving a social company.
Just plain odd if you ask me.

"letting one of their most social people go" gotta say that isn't the way Mary Beth put it. Sounds like she was looking for a change and found it. Don't know that I would read too much into it - especially on the part of IBM. People leave companies all the time. My $0.02.

I hear ya, Chris. But when someone is as passionate as MBR bolts, seems pretty odd to me.

Just like I said on the Facebook reply Jim, it's like you telling me you're now a Browns fan.

Maybe the new Job lets her spend more time with her girls. Met them at the TristateLUG last fall. Great girls. The IBM job probably keeps her away from to much.
