Playing catch up with my Domino blogging

It's been a couple of weeks since I really sat down and blogged about stuff going on in the Domino world, and there is a lot going on. First, news this past week that Libby Ingrassia, AKA Notesgirl, is leaving the Domino community and moving into teaching. You've done some awesome things for the community and you will be missed by many. I think it was because of your blog that got me interested in this medium. I also know that it was because of your R5 Admin book that helped me pass my R5 tests! Best of luck to Libby!
If your like me and didn't get the email, Lotusphere registration has been open for about a week now. Registration must be going really well because I've already heard from one person that the Dolphin is all out of non-smoking rooms already! It will really be interesting to see what will be announced this year. The excitement is there, and its still 5 months away.
Sametime 7.5 is also gone gold this past week. I blogged on Friday that I did get the download and I had installed in on my test server without any major issues. The only problem I had so far was finding the client to install. When I click the link to download the client off of the stcenter page, the link comes back dead. I searched the server, and the install client hadn't installed. Not sure if it's a "me" issue or an install error. You can download the client separately from the Passport site, (Thanks, Chris!). Probably need to actually sit down and read the documentation to make sure I did things right ;-)
And for the big news, at least for me. Notes/Domino 7.0.2 with all its cool stuff will be out within the next two weeks. Susan Bulloch mentioned it on her blog the other day as well as the latest Taking Notes podcast. By the way, if you don't subscribe to the Taking Notes podcast, what's wrong with you!? Seriously, these guys have really grown the podcast into a fun and informative look into all things Notes/Domino.
Well, that's all the things I can see fit to blog about. At least for now.

Andy, when you loaded the gold build of the client, did you get an additional community loaded for the stdemo75.dfw.ibm.com?

Hey Chris,
I did a complete uninstall of the beta, and then installed the Gold client, but did not get that. Did you have the beta? I seem to recall that was a setting needed for the big beta meeting they had a few months ago. Ring a bell?

I had the beta, but I had wiped everything (program files folder and app data folder) but it came back.

On a laptop that's NEVER had 7.5 loaded (beta or gold) I get that as well... It's really strange. Just hoping that other customers aren't getting this - glad you didn't.

When you installed the server, did it install the installer application?

I haven't gotten to the server yet... I know, I know - what a slacker!! :)

Looks like here is your answer to the ST Connect Client on the server to be available for download.

Ya, caught that too while eating dinner. So, we aren't crazy! Well, at least about this. ;)
