WooHoo!

Okay, it's been a while since I posted. Things have been more than crazy to say the least. Here's a quick run down.

Domino
Two weeks ago, I had to travel to two of our remote plants to switch out some EOL servers. Since they were going to be the same version of Domino on the servers, it was the "COPY-PASTE-PRAY" migration. Only took me an hour and a half on both servers to get them switched over. That's the one thing I love about Domino. As long as you have the server.id, names.nsf, and several other files, you can make any server work as a previous one. Love that for the DR tests. Everyone else is running around getting their things done, and I am sitting there watching movies while files restore :)
Been having some issues with response times on our mail Domino server lately. Found that the problem was our array controller. Seems that HP/Compaq has had some issues with their array cards, and firmware is suppose to fix it, when it didn't, we had a tech out here to swap hardware. Looks like we finally got it fixed last night.
This weekend is the big 6.5.4 upgrade of the main mail servers. Hopefully the fixes in 6.5.4 will help fix some of the other issues. Now, maybe I can get my 6.5 client upgrade complete! That would be nice for a change.

Personal
As you may have read in earlier entries, we are trying to sell our house. Everything that is not related to working, sleeping or eating has revolved around getting the house ready to show. Well, Sunday is our first Open House. Keep your fingers crossed for us! As part of the clean-up, I had to replace a toilet in the first floor. As I am not someone very mechanical, I almost paid $130 for someone to come out and do it for me. Did it myself, and, it actually works! Just a few more touches to make on Friday, and we are good to go! Now, what do I do with the old toilet? Need to think that one through.
This past weekend, we loaded up the family truckster, and headed off to Michigan for my sisters wedding. That was a great time. I'm really happy for my sister. She found, what seems like, a real good guy. I haven't had much time to get to know him, but, he seems cool. And I know my sister. If he isn't a good guy, she would have nothing to do with him.
I grew up in Detroit as a child, and moved to Ohio when I was 15. I always thought that was the best thing that my folks ever did for me. Well, after touring the downtown area of Detroit this weekend, I know understand why. I think the only thing that can describe the condition of the downtown area is to compare it to "Escape From New York". If you don't know what I mean, go there sometime. You will. Better yet, check out this website. Also, check out the links page on the site too. Maybe I have become too much of a "hick", and the city boy that I once was is a memory, but, it's depressing.

Well, that's it for now. Just got a report that response time getting in Notes is much better today for some people, so, I need to go follow up on that. Tomorrow is the big opening of Ep III. Our boss is taking us on a "Off-site team building worksession" to see it. Can't wait. See ya!
