Well, I got through the server issues of last week, but, had to spend all weekend at work fixing them. And I thought that I was suppose to be resting. Oh well. Was a good week for at least one thing. After almost two years of beating management over the head, I was able to make a change to our MX record out on the web, and what do you know, most all our spam went away. Late last year, we went with CipherTrust for anti-spam. It worked pretty good, but, since we had a service that if we went down due to disaster, the mail would queue out at the service, then get delivered when we were back online. The spammers seem to like to send mail through those places, and we were getting nailed hard! The final step to my plan is to turn on pattern matching. Basically, if you aren't sending to a firstname.lastname at our company, you don't get your message in. Extreme? A little, but we have had some real problems with this crap.
So know, I get to spend my time trying to figure out how to convert a couple hundred people from Exchange to Domino. Boy, I get all the fun :)
And another thing...I know it's only the middle of August, but, I'm already thinking about Lotusphere. I'm weird.
Well, next week, my oldest niece is getting married, so, it's off to Michigan. My little girl, Molly, gets to be flower girl. She is looking forward to wearing her pretty new dress. Of course, I will see it and start thinking about the next time she is wearing a white dress and walking down an aisle. Like I said earlier, I'm weird.
Well, heres hoping my servers want to stay up all weekend and do their little Domino thing. I need the rest.
