I realized something today. It’s been over a month since I last posted anything. Pretty scary. So, let’s jump right in, and find out what’s been going on in the world o’ Andy.

1. Lotusphere 2004 rocked. Had the chance to go again this year and loved it. Even won an iPod from the fine folks at Percussion. Picked up a lot about Workplace. Too bad our company is looking to go with another vendor for portal though. I won the battle for keeping DWA in its native format, so at least I have that. The mail formatting for this other product is pretty weak in comparison.
2. My Domino 6 upgrade continues. 3 sites are now running Domino 6.5. 7 more sites to upgrade in the next couple of months.
3. Seems like I have a replica of our Domino Directory out there somewhere that keeps replicating back old/dead data. Our overseas location was unable to get mail because our mailserver thought that it could send mail via IP, when we use dial-up access. So the hunt for the screwed up directory is on.
4. With the R6 march underway, I have to figure out just exactly what I am going to do with the client installs. We found out last week that our default install location of C:\Notes is not going to work with our new desktop image. It seems that the fine folks at Microsoft made a change to the behavior of the Everyone group, and now when someone tries to open their client, they are unable to access the NOTES.INI or NAMES.NSF. Found a short-term fix with local access rights, but, looks like I have to prepare for C:\Program Files\Lotus Notes installs in the future.
5. Have a consultant coming in for DWA through our firewall. Have the redirect.nsf working pretty well. Just need to figure out SSO properly so they don’t need to sign on twice when coming in.
6. Once 6.5.1 Sametime is released, have to add that into my server upgrade steps, and double-back to all of the 6.5 servers I currently have running to add chat ability for everyone.

Outside of this stuff, not much else going on. Planning on getting some developer training in the near future, which will be a help. Have a paintball game scheduled for the middle of March. Should come at a time when I need to blow off steam.
Will try to keep the site updated more as thing progress. For now, it’s back to work.
